Nick picked another and gave to to Brendan
"i wonder if this is a volcanic island?"

"we could go check since the one's on the beach aren't doing much but wasting space using up our currently limited food until we harvest more."

"yep, who knows, we might find some ancient relic" Nick chuckled

"well if non native spices are here there's a fair chance."

"lets go" Nick grabbed his bag from the sand and held the vegetation back

Brendan got up and started walking.

NIck followed and was surprised by how dense the forest got

Brendan stopped being able to push the brush aside. "Time for the trees."

"Climb and jump to each branch"

Nick clambered up a tree and looked out over the canopy, "yeah, this islnads volcanic alright, you can see the volcano, don't know if its active or not, but i guess we might find out"

Brendan climbed up "I think the canopy is thick enough to support our weight.

"what are you suggesting now? running across it? we aren't exactly ninjas"

"then we try our luck with the brush."

Nick took off across the canopy

Brendan followed "Okay this worked. that's amazing." The was a clear spot up ahead.

Nick slowed down alright, and fell through about 6 feet to the rest of the tree he was above

Brendan stopped on a dime "oh sh-ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" He grabbed a branch that broke.
